St. Louis, Mo. - Rev. William O. Davis, 87, died Sunday at the home of his son, Robert, in St. Louis. Rev. Davis, who was born November 26, 1878, was the son of Hiram and Sarah Conrad Davis of Crawfordsville. Rev. Davis was a graduate of Crawfordsville High School and graduated from Wabash College in June of 1907. He received his doctor of divinity degree in August of 1939. He married Mary Lawson near the time he graduated from Wabash College. Her father was a Presbyterian minister in Crawfordsville. Most of his ministry was spent in the South. At one time he was a pastor of a church at Crystal City, Mo. Rev. Davis was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Lions Club and active in civic affairs. He worked with young people of the churches where he served. He was preceded in death by his wife and two sisters. Mrs. Mae Kessler of Indianapolis and Mrs. Elizabeth Griffin of Crawfordsville. He is survived by a son, Robert of St. Louis, a sister, Mrs. Bertha Elkins of 308 Scott St.: two grandsons, and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held Wednesday at Nashville, Ark. Burial will be at Nashville.
